Key Stats

Yep, that's me.

Jennifer L. Young, owner and organizational expert of Chaos Contained LLC, an organizing and design services company that works with individuals to help find order out of chaos. I have been working with wonderful clients all across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky for the last 10 years. I am a member of NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers) and put my skills to the test way back when I had time to play with my Barbie dolls – best Dream House on the block, with clothes hung in the closet and shoes lined up straight.

On the side, I moonlight as director f communications on the Brand, Marketing and Communications team at Mercy Health – the largest healthcare provider in the region, fourth-largest employer in Ohio. Prior to joining Mercy Health, I was part of the marketing team at the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, working on the HYPE initiative (Harnessing Young Professional Energy), among other things. I got to promote, discover, educate and have fun with the city I love – Cincinnati USA. I spent almost eight years with ArtsWave (formerly Fine Arts Fund) – raising millions to support the amazing arts and culture we have in Cincinnati.

I find joy in spending time with my perfect-for-me husband, my rescue puppies Quincy and Copper and my two sons – Harper Emerson (born December 2013) and Crosby Thomas (born May 2016). These two little guys have changed our lives for the best. Two imperfect parents trying to raise amazing humans. They are both unique and pure amazement. Parenting is the hardest thing I have ever done. And I love them more than I ever thought possible.

We adopted Quincy in the fall of 2004. And we adopted Copper in the summer of 2012 (she was rescued from a hoarder house – it was meant to be).

My husband gutted and put back together my dream Ranch home throughout 2015 and 2016 Now I get the fun of organizing every nook and cranny. We also gutted and renovated a cute arts and crafts bungalow in 2009-10. We have rehabbed a few houses together, on the side. My husband finally took this passion and turned it into his full-time gig. So far, so good…

Our “15-minutes-of-fame” moment came in the fall of 2010 when we (and our desperate house) were featured on the DIY Network’s Desperate Landscapes show. Our perfect little abode was chosen to be featured on the show – highlights front-yard makeovers. I have no shame. We spent three months gutting the inside of our home and were running low on resources for the immense amount of work needed to make the outside mirror the inside. I have no shame. I petitioned for the selection of our house for this show. I begged, pleaded and made my case. Take a look at a few of the before and afters.
